The Commis Chef assists the head chef with preparation and service across all kitchen sections.
The role supports consistent operational standards and guest-care quality.
Kitchen Responsibilities
- Follow basic food hygiene requirements under company guidelines and the Daily Diligence Diary.
- Communicate stock levels, best working practices, and quality-control information to relevant team members.
- Maintain food preparation and food levels according to quality and quantity standards.
- Control food storage and minimize spoilage and wastage.
- Exercise portion control to minimize cost impact on the business.
- Follow standard operating procedures and work in line with set recipes.
Education and Experience
- A background in the hotel or food and beverage industry is preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience as a Commis Chef in a 3-star or higher category hotel is preferred.
- A degree in Culinary Arts is an advantage.
- Advanced English language ability is required.
Skills and Competencies
- Experience working with a multicultural team is preferred.
- A positive and enthusiastic attitude is preferred.
- Passion for the culinary arts is preferred.
- Responsibility, initiative, and good judgment are preferred.
- A proactive approach and ability to work under pressure are preferred.
- Efficiency, calmness, organization, and attention to detail are preferred.
