Role Overview
The role functions as a Commis Chef for the Calo Kitchen.
The Commis Chef works alongside Senior Chefs on meal preparation, maintenance, logistics, safety, and sanitation.
Success is measured by support for kitchen efficiency and safety while maintaining meal quality.
Main Responsibilities
- Monitor kitchen equipment and report any issues to supervisors.
- Continuously develop culinary knowledge to support high-quality meal production.
- Measure, mix, and prepare meal ingredients, sauces, and seasonings.
- Assess inventory levels and request replenishment when necessary.
- Plate meal items under the supervision of the Chef de Partie.
- Dispose of spoiled ingredients and comply with sanitation and safety regulations.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude when working with colleagues.
- Produce high-quality dishes meeting presentation and taste standards.
Ideal Candidate
- One to three years of experience as a Commis Chef or in a similar hospitality or catering role.
- Currently based in the UAE.
- Proficient in spoken and written English.
- Good understanding of food safety, hygiene, health, and safety regulations.
- Previous experience in a food manufacturing facility is a plus.
