About the role
Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi is seeking a Captain for the Food & Beverage – Sand & Koal team.
The Captain ensures the assigned restaurant section operates smoothly and guests receive food and beverage service according to hotel standards.
The role reports to the Assistant Restaurant Manager.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and supervise opening and closing brigade duties.
- Assist with planning for reservations and special events.
- Check operating equipment and furniture for condition, cleanliness, and functionality.
- Train waiters, waitresses, and junior waiters.
- Set up the assigned restaurant section correctly and completely.
- Welcome guests, assist with seating, and provide menu and beverage recommendations.
- Take orders and ensure timely food and beverage service.
- Manage table setup, cleaning, resetting, billing, and cash-handling procedures.
- Handle guest complaints and communicate guest comments to restaurant management.
- Attend meetings, briefings, and training sessions while maintaining grooming and hygiene standards.
Candidate expectations
- Previous experience in the same role in a luxury hotel is preferred.
- Resort experience is an advantage.
- Strong communication and customer service skills are expected.
- Senior School qualification or equivalent is an advantage.
- Russian language proficiency is an added value.
