The Commis 1 - Pastry role is based at Anantara Mina Al Arab Ras Al Khaimah Resort.
The role supports pastry preparation, food service, kitchen hygiene, and hotel functions.
Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation, service, and mise en place for outlets as required.
- Follow food preparation and presentation guidelines for consistent culinary quality.
- Keep working areas clean and maintain hygienic surroundings.
- Apply food safety practices, including dating, storage, rotation, and sanitation.
- Look after hotel property and facilities.
- Participate in departmental training.
- Maintain departmental checklists and cleaning schedules.
- Assist at events, banquets, and other functions.
- Follow personal hygiene, grooming, fire safety, and health and safety rules.
- Perform related duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Basic cake decorating, piping, glazing, and dessert plating skills are required.
- Knowledge of baking techniques and pastry equipment operation is required.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation, including HACCP, is required.
- Understanding of food storage, stock rotation, and waste control is required.
- Attention to detail, creativity, teamwork, communication, time management, and organization are required.
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions is required.
- A Food Handler or Food Safety Certificate is required.
