Position Overview
Oversee all commercial and contractual aspects of high-profile construction projects. This role is critical to maintaining financial discipline, contractual compliance, and commercial optimization from pre-contract award through to final account.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise senior management on commercial risk across all project phases
- Manage all contracts and subcontracts, including drafting, negotiation, and administration
- Lead development and execution of project-specific commercial strategies
- Monitor and control project financials, including cost reports, claims, and forecasting
- Ensure compliance with relevant legal frameworks, insurance, and contract standards
- Supervise procurement activities and track costs vs. project budgets
- Lead preparation and resolution of claims and disputes
- Drive commercial process improvements and system integrations
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in commercial/contract management with leading main contractors in the building construction sector
- In-depth knowledge of contractual law, procurement, and cost control best practices
- Proven leadership and negotiation skills with excellent commercial acumen
- Strong familiarity with UAE construction regulations, client expectations, and local market trends
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline
- Professional certification (e.g., MRICS, CIArb) is a plus
