Role Overview
Support the Marine Engineering and Industrial Manufacturing business as a commercially minded HR Business Partner.
Partner with technical and operational leaders in an engineering-led environment.
Support both professional and operational workforces while aligning HR advice with business priorities.
Business Partnering
- Partner with Engineering, Operations, Production, Projects, HSE, Quality, Commercial, and other business leaders.
- Provide practical HR advice aligned with business and operational priorities.
- Challenge and coach managers on people decisions and performance.
HR Centre of Excellence Partnership
- Work with HR Centres of Excellence on performance management, talent reviews, succession planning, mobility, engagement, learning, leadership, inclusion, organisation design, and talent acquisition.
Workforce and Talent
- Lead manpower planning and budgeting.
- Translate project and operational requirements into workforce and capability plans.
- Support recruitment of critical technical and leadership positions and conduct competency-based assessments.
- Identify critical skills, talent gaps, succession risks, and internal mobility opportunities.
Governance and Employee Relations
- Ensure consistent application of HR policies, processes, and governance.
- Advise managers on UAE employment law and HR practices.
- Manage complex disciplinary, grievance, investigation, and employee-relations cases.
- Document, escalate, and resolve cases while challenging practices that create people or compliance risks.
Required Experience
- 10–14 years of progressive HR experience, including strong HRBP or generalist experience.
- Experience in oil and gas, marine engineering, industrial manufacturing, EPC, fabrication, energy, or a similar technical environment.
- Strong workforce planning, manpower budgeting, employee relations, conflict resolution, recruitment, and interviewing experience.
- Strong understanding of HR governance and UAE Labour Law.
- Excellent influencing, coaching, and stakeholder-management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Engineering or technical background is highly preferred.
- CIPD, SHRM, or equivalent qualification is an advantage.
- Arabic is an advantage.
Candidate Profile
The candidate may be an engineer who moved into HR or an HR professional experienced in engineering-led businesses.
The role requires confidence working with engineers, project managers, production managers, workshop and shipyard managers, commercial leaders, HSE, and operations.
The successful candidate should be practical, persuasive, resilient, solutions-oriented, and able to influence senior technical and operational leaders.
