About the Role
- We are looking for a detail oriented and analytically driven Commercial Control Specialist to join the Specialized Markets Division. The role is responsible for ensuring that all market activities comply with applicable regulations and policies through effective oversight, data driven risk managemen
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor regulatory compliance of commercial activities including licensing, pricing, advertisements, product specifications, and health & safety standards in line with local and federal laws.
- Detect and investigate violations such as commercial fraud, price manipulation, and misleading data; document evidence and submit recommendations for corrective actions and penalties.
- Develop and maintain oversight systems and platforms including inspection management tools, violation tracking systems, and KPI dashboards.
- Build and update a market risk register; conduct periodic risk assessments, define controls, and develop mitigation plans.
- Conduct periodic market analyses to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges; provide input for policy development and regulatory initiatives.
- Review and update operational manuals and internal control systems; guide teams to ensure consistent application.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly regulatory and analytical reports covering compliance indicators, violations, market trends, and corrective actions taken.
- Coordinate with government entities, partners, and professional associations to support early warning systems and compliance initiatives.
- Deliver awareness and training programs for customers, traders, and staff on commercial control best practices and consumer protection.
- Monitor commercial and operational performance via approved KPI dashboards; analyze deviations and propose corrective measures.
- Conduct periodic operational reviews to identify bottlenecks and recommend process improvements.
- Comply with information security policies and data confidentiality standards in accordance with the municipality's approved data classification system.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
- Minimum 6 years of experience
Work Environment
- Primarily office based with periodic field visits.
- Coordination required with internal teams (division manager, colleagues) and external parties (consultants, contractors).
- No supervisory responsibilities.
- Reports directly to the Head of Specialized Markets Division.
- Vehicle and mobile phone allowances provided subject to applicable HR policies.
