About the Role
Orion Group seeks a Civil/Structural/Marine Engineering Specialist for a contract position based in Qatar onshore. The role involves providing specialized technical expertise in design and analysis of onshore/offshore structures, supporting operations expansion and start-up.

Responsibilities
- Provide specialized technical expertise in the design and analysis of onshore/offshore structures and infrastructures
- Provide civil/structural/marine engineering support including design reviews, specifications review/update, studies, failure analysis and advanced troubleshooting
- Perform economic and financial evaluation of conceptual studies and prepare design basis and design packages
- Coordinate all aspects of civil/structural/marine engineering and provide technical support to operation and maintenance
- Lead the definition and implementation of integrity program for steel/concrete structures
- Act as Subject Matter Expert and develop civil/structural detailed drawings and procedures
- Perform complex/high level analysis using software like STAAD and SACS
- Provide technical support in Root Cause Failure Analysis, RHAZOP, risk assessment, lifting, excavation certificate, inspection program
- Liaise with consultants or shareholders, represent Company LNG to external agencies, conduct technical presentations
- Support less experienced engineers and develop training programs
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in civil/structural engineering
- 8 years' experience in an oil and gas environment
- Experience in greenfield and brownfield Civil/Structural for both onshore and offshore facilities
- Knowledge of relevant International Codes & Standards such as BS, ASCE, ACI, AISC, UBC, API RP, etc.
- Fluent in English language
- Computer literate and competent with engineering software tools

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering.
- 8 years’ experience in an oil and gas environment.
- Experience in greenfield and brownfield Civil/Structural for both onshore and offshore facilities.
- Knowledge of relevant International Codes & Standards such as BS, ASCE, ACI, AISC, UBC, API RP, etc.
- Fluent in English language (demonstrated verbal and written skills).
- Computer literate, and competent with a variety of engineering software tools.

- Provide technical expertise support to Project Team throughout Project Life Cycle.
- Coordinate all aspects of civil/structural/marine engineering and provide technical support to operation and maintenance.
- Lead the definition and implementation of integrity program for steel/concrete structures.
- Act as Subject Matter Expert and develop civil/structural detailed drawings and procedures.
- Perform all necessary complex/high level analysis using computer analysis software e.g. STAAD for onshore and SACS for offshore.
- Provide technical support in all sessions of Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), RHAZOP, risk assessment, lifting, excavation certificate, inspection program, etc.
