About the Role
Orion Group seeks an Automation Engineer for a role based in Qatar. You will execute automation engineering aspects for Instrument & Control systems in petrochemical plants, lead contractor teams, and ensure compliance with HSE and quality standards.

Responsibilities
- Responsible for the effective execution of Automation Engineer aspects of assigned projects/programs for all Instrument & Control systems in line with the defined plans and quality standards
- Work according to established company policies and procedures, industry norms and best practices using own initiative to answer technical queries/resolve problems
- Determine work methods from alternative existing methods in accordance with established specialized policies and professional standards
- Responsible to lead a team of contractors to fulfil unit objectives in line with HSE and quality standards
- Plan, monitor and coordinate all Instrument & Control systems engineering design; review Instrument & Control scope of assigned projects ensuring the system architecture and configuration will meet project specifications
- Ensure projects’ Instrument & Control engineering activities are executed according to specification, within budget
- Carry out the technical reviews for all areas of work covered in Instrument & Control engineering projects while evaluating requests, recommending appropriate solutions, and proposing changes as necessary
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Electronics, Systems Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline
- 7 years of related experience in the assigned field of engineering and exposure to project management and contractor management
- Knowledge of Instrument & Control/instrument engineering and industrial Instrument & Control
- Knowledge of the operations in petrochemical plants and of operations and products
- Health, Safety and Security Management skills
- Conceptual and analytical skills
- Inventory management skills

Job Overview
