About the Role
RAFFLES seeks a Chief Accountant to support the Cluster Director of Finance in managing all operational accounting duties for a cluster of ultra-luxury properties in Saudi Arabia. The role involves financial reporting, general ledger management, pre-opening setup, compliance, and team leadership.

Responsibilities
- Manage day to day operations of the Accounting Department including A/P, A/R, General Cashier, and Income Audit
- Prepare accurate daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports (flash reports, P&L, balance sheet reconciliations)
- Ensure timely processing of payroll, tax filings (VAT/Zakat), and governmental compliance reports
- Oversee and maintain the General Ledger, ensuring compliance with USALI and Accor standards
- Assist in financial setup for pre opening including bank accounts, permits, and accounting software structure
- Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all accounting functions
- Enforce internal controls to safeguard assets and prevent fraud
- Support training and supervision of junior accounting staff
- Act as key point of contact for finance related queries from operational departments
Requirements
- Experience in accounting, preferably in hospitality or luxury brand environment
- Knowledge of KSA financial regulations (VAT, Zakat, labor laws)
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, SunSystems)
- Strong understanding of USALI and Accor accounting standards
- Experience with pre opening financial setup

Role Overview
- The Chief Accountant will support the Director of Finance in managing all operational accounting duties for a cluster of ultra luxury properties in Saudi Arabia.
- This role ensures accurate financial records, timely reports, and adherence to Accor policies, KSA regulations, and brand standards.
Financial Operations & Reporting
- Manage day to day operations of the Accounting Department including A/P, A/R, General Cashier, and Income Audit.
- Prepare accurate daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports (flash reports, P&L, balance sheet reconciliations).
- Ensure timely processing of payroll, tax filings (VAT/Zakat), and governmental compliance reports.
- Conduct monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
General Ledger Management
- Oversee and maintain the General Ledger, ensuring entries, accruals, and deferrals comply with USALI and Accor standards.
- Manage chart of accounts for cluster properties, ensuring correct allocation of revenues and expenses.
Pre Opening & System Setup
- Assist DOF in financial setup including bank accounts, permits, and accounting software structure (SAP, SunSystems).
- Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all accounting functions.
- Assist in setting up inventory control and procurement systems.
Compliance & Internal Controls
- Enforce robust internal controls across revenue and expenditure areas to safeguard assets and prevent fraud.
- Ensure compliance with KSA tax laws (VAT, Zakat), labor laws, and Accor global policies.
- Review expense reports, petty cash, and purchase requests for budget and policy adherence.
Leadership & Support
- Support training and supervision of junior accounting staff (Income Auditors, Accounts Clerks).
- Act as key point of contact for finance related queries from operational departments.
- Deputize for Cluster DOF in their absence.
