About the Role

Responsibilities
- Full ownership over category management in terms of assortments, pricing, offers, and supply
- Monitor economic performance of assigned departments/categories across sales, gross margin, profit and loss
- Ensure proper implementation of commercial strategy and strategic guidelines
- Provide input to Ops team flows, adjacencies, tools, templates, fixtures, etc.
- Review and resolve any issues with local suppliers
- Define and maintain local assortment, integrating basic assortment for department/categories
- Select local suppliers, negotiate and purchase in line with expected needs
- Price items based on pricing guidelines and recommended prices for PL/Imported items
- Collect market prices and conduct country price audits
- Identify local promo products, price each item, and submit forecasting/reordering information
- Develop country promotion calendar and follow up on execution
- Analyze and provide inputs for more effective promotional activities
Requirements
- Minimum 4 to 5 years of experience in Fresh Fruit & Vegetables (F&V) within the Qatar retail market is a must
- Demonstrated ability to drive category growth through assortment optimization, innovation, and seasonal planning
- Strong capability to analyze market trends, customer buying behavior, and competitor activities
- Experience in monitoring supplier performance based on quality, service levels, pricing, and delivery
- You have built teams and led cross functional projects at scale
- Very detail oriented, structured, and know how to prioritize
- Willing to do anything necessary for the project to succeed, including working on the warehouse floor when short staffed
- Able to interact with senior level executives and manage expectations of multiple stakeholders
- Excellent analytical and communication skills, hands on approach to tools and data
- Robust interpersonal and intercultural skills
- Fluent English and Arabic would be highly advantageous

Role Summary
- We are looking for a Category Manager F&V (Fruits & Vegetables) to join the team in Qatar and focus on growing our own Grocery Store 'tMart'.
What’s On Your Plate?
- Full Ownership over the category management role in terms of Assortments, Pricing, Offers and Supply.
- Responsible for monitoring economic performance of the assigned departments /categories across sales, gross margin, profit and loss and consistency with the company's commercial strategy.
- Ensuring proper implementation of the commercial strategy and strategic guidelines, including categories plan and pricing strategy.
- Providing input to the Ops team flows, adjacencies, tools and templates, fixtures, etc.
- Reviewing and resolving any issues with local suppliers.
- Ensuring cost efficiency across our consumers that meets their needs/wants.
- Defining and maintaining the local assortment and integrating the basic assortment for the department/categories.
- Providing regional teams with information regarding products and quantities needed for international and regional contracts.
- Selecting local suppliers, negotiating and purchasing in line with expected needs guided by standards such as cost price, discounts, rebates, payment terms, discounts, etc.
- Pricing the items based on pricing guidelines and recommended prices for PL/Imported items.
- Collecting market prices and conducting country price audits.
- Identifying local promo products and pricing each item and submitting forecasting/relevant reordering information to replenishment.
What Did We Order?
- Minimum 4 to 5 years of experience in Fresh Fruit & Vegetables (F&V) within the Qatar retail market is a must, with a proven track record of managing multiple product categories in a large retail or FMCG environment.
- Demonstrated ability to drive category growth through assortment optimization, innovation, and seasonal planning, including identifying new product opportunities and emerging consumer trends.
- Strong capability to analyze market trends, customer buying behavior, and competitor activities, ensuring competitive pricing within the Qatar retail market.
- Experience in monitoring supplier performance based on quality, service levels, pricing, and delivery — with the ability to review, negotiate, and resolve issues with local suppliers directly.
- You have built teams and led cross functional projects at scale.
- You are very detail oriented, structured and know how to prioritize — you consider yourself as someone who delivers solutions and not bottlenecks to be solved.
- You are willing to do anything necessary for the project to succeed, including working on the warehouse floor when short staffed, making a customer delivery, or taking customer calls. No job is too insignificant, no detail is too small for you.
- You are able to interact with senior level executives and manage the expectations of multiple stakeholders. You are someone energized by the unknown and look forward to learning each day on the job, with excellent analytical and communication skills and a hands on approach to tools and data.

- Language skills: Fluent English and Arabic would be highly advantageous.
