Scope of Job
- The cashier plays a pivotal role in delivering a seamless experience, handling all point of sale transactions accurately and efficiently while maintaining Hermès’ exceptional standards of client experience.
- The cashier ensures operational accuracy, supports the sales team, and contributes to the overall success of the store.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers including answering phones and directing customer inquiries to appropriate party.
- Answer routine billing questions/issues from customers.
- Assist in opening and closing of the store including cash handling and deposits.
- Complete, process, and maintain applicable paperwork and records.
- Manage the daily till (Cash/Deposit) and till procedures.
- Handle goods and deliver them to clients.
- Optimize greeting at the end of sales transaction.
- Effectively train and direct activities of cashiers assigned to front end.
- Accurately perform opening and/or closing functions and maintain cash office files and reports.
- Provide on the job training to junior cashiers.
- Accept cash, cheques, wire transfers or credit cards for payment and complete transactions according to procedures.
- Ensure register/counter areas are neat and stocked with necessary supplies.
Experience
- Prior experience in a cashier or similar role, preferably in luxury retail.
- Strong numerical and data entry skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to handle high pressure situations with professionalism.
