Responsibilities
- Cut, trim, and prepare various cuts of meat according to customer preferences and specifications
- Display meat products in an appealing and organized manner, monitor and rotate stock to maintain freshness
- Operate machinery such as slicers, grinders, and band saws safely
- Inspect meat products for quality, freshness, and proper labeling, dispose of expired or spoiled products
- Assist customers in selecting meat products, provide information on cuts and cooking methods
- Wrap, weigh, label and price cuts of meat, promote add on sales
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the butchery area
- Monitor and manage meat inventory levels, report shortages or excess inventory
- Receive, inspect, and properly store meat deliveries following temperature and storage requirements
Requirements
- At least 1 2 years of experience in butchery in a supermarket/hypermarket setting
- Able to work in +/ cold degree temperature
- Basic knowledge of food safety & hygiene standards
- High school diploma or technical qualification
- Good communication skills

About the Role
- The incumbent will be responsible for preparing and cutting meat products according to established standards, ensuring quality, freshness, and customer satisfaction.
- The incumbent should have expertise in meat cutting techniques, knowledge of various cuts, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for cutting, trimming, and preparing various cuts of meat according to customer preferences and specifications.
- Displaying meat products in an appealing and organized manner to attract customers, while monitoring and rotating stock to maintain freshness.
- Operate machinery such as slicers, grinders, and band saws safely, and support promotional activities and seasonal meat displays.
- Quality control: inspects meat products for quality, freshness, and proper labeling, dispose of expired or spoiled products.
- Providing excellent customer service: assists customers in selecting meat products, provides information on cuts, cooking methods, and recommendations.
- Wrap, weigh, label and price cuts of meat, promote add on sales and maintain an awareness of all promotions and advertisements.
- Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the butchery area.
- Responsible for monitoring and managing meat inventory levels, reporting shortages or excess inventory.

Required Skills & Qualifications
