About the Role
GMG is looking for an Assistant Category Manager to manage and optimize the Fresh Fruits & Vegetables category. The role involves tailoring assortments, planograms, and promotions to store formats, driving performance through data analysis, and collaborating cross-functionally to ensure growth.

Responsibilities
- Define the F&V assortment by store cluster, customer profile and store format
- Develop planograms, space allocation and visual merchandising standards
- Build and manage the promotional and leaflet calendar
- Identify new products, seasonal opportunities, emerging trends, and value added ranges
- Review sales, margin, waste, availability and SKU productivity to improve category performance
- Work closely with Buying, Operations, Marketing, Supply Chain and store teams to ensure strong execution
- Conduct regular competitor and market reviews
- Support the development of prepacked, ready to eat and private label F&V ranges
Requirements
- Experience in category management, preferably in fresh produce or retail
- Strong analytical skills to review sales, margin, waste, and SKU productivity
- Ability to develop planograms and visual merchandising standards
- Knowledge of promotional and leaflet calendar management
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
