Role overview

Business Analyst role focused on insurance-domain processes, requirements management, data analysis, application collaboration, and testing.

The role requires 6+ years of Business Analyst experience and supports large-scale application development or enhancement projects.

Business analysis and requirements

  • Gather, analyze, document, and validate business requirements from stakeholders.
  • Conduct workshops, interviews, and requirements elicitation sessions.
  • Create BRDs, FRDs, user stories, process flows, and functional or technical specifications.
  • Perform impact analysis and maintain requirements traceability throughout the project lifecycle.

Insurance domain

  • Analyze policy administration, claims management, underwriting, billing and payments, renewals and endorsements, and insurance product configuration processes.
  • Support operational efficiency improvements and regulatory or compliance initiatives affecting insurance products and processes.
  • Understand P&C, Life, Health, or Commercial Insurance business processes.

Data and technical collaboration

  • Write complex SQL queries for data analysis, validation, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Review stored procedures, packages, triggers, and functions and validate data migration and transformation activities.
  • Support UAT and production issue investigations using Oracle databases and PL/SQL.
  • Collaborate with Java-based application teams and participate in solution design and technical design reviews.

Testing and stakeholders

  • Create and review test scenarios and test cases and support SIT, UAT, and regression testing.
  • Perform requirement validation and defect triage.
  • Coordinate with developers, architects, QA teams, and project managers.
  • Act as liaison between business users and technical teams and present findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders.

Required qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience as a Business Analyst.
  • 3-5 years of experience in the insurance industry.
  • Experience with large-scale application development or enhancement projects.
  • Experience in Agile and Waterfall environments.
  • Strong SQL and PL/SQL expertise and knowledge of database objects.
  • Understanding of Java/J2EE applications, REST APIs, system integrations, data mapping, and data analysis.
  • Experience with SQL Server Database, SQL Developer or TOAD, and JIRA.

Compensation

  • Base compensation range is 90,000-100,000 for the posted location.
  • Additional variable incentives, bonuses, or commissions may be available depending on the position and applicable laws.
