The Role

Building Inspector supporting building inspections, condition assessments, compliance reviews, and technical reporting.

The role is part-time and fully remote.

The position coordinates with property managers, contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct or coordinate building inspections and property condition assessments.
  • Review structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and general building conditions.
  • Identify defects, deterioration, maintenance concerns, and potential safety risks.
  • Review inspection findings, photographs, drawings, reports, and technical documentation.
  • Prepare inspection reports with observations, recommendations, and priority actions.
  • Monitor corrective actions and coordinate follow-up with contractors or property teams.
  • Support compliance reviews against building standards, specifications, and procedures.
  • Coordinate with engineers, contractors, facilities teams, property managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records, schedules, findings, and documentation.
  • Recommend maintenance, repair, and improvement measures based on inspection findings.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Building Surveying, Construction, Architecture, or a related field is preferred.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of building systems, construction practices, materials, defects, and maintenance requirements.
  • Knowledge of building safety, quality standards, inspection procedures, and regulatory principles.
  • Familiarity with technical drawings, inspection reports, documentation systems, and digital collaboration tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to identify defects and assess their impact on safety, quality, and building performance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage inspection priorities.
  • Ability to work independently with remote and on-site property and engineering teams.
