The Behavior Analyst (BCBA) role is responsible for providing safe, effective, evidence-based, and comprehensive

behavior analytical services and interventions, based on the principles of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA).

Service

provision is available for service users at all life-stages and transitions, where need is identified and skill repertoire of

the BCBA/IBA allows.

They must also promote a progressive attitude to the continual improvement of resident or

client care through research, evidence-based practice, and the development of additional specialist clinical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a professional role model, supporting interdisciplinary teamwork and guiding Behavior Technicians through orientation, supervision, and competency development.
  • Manages caseloads in coordination with leadership, ensuring appropriate staffing and effective tiered service delivery.
  • Conducts comprehensive psychological and behavioral assessments, formulates evidence‑based treatment plans, and delivers specialized interventions across diverse care settings.
  • Provides expert clinical care for own caseload while supporting complex cases across the team, ensuring high‑quality, resident‑centered treatment.
  • Communicates effectively with residents, families, and healthcare teams, maintaining confidentiality, professional boundaries, and culturally sensitive practice.
  • Contributes to clinical education through peer review, staff training, student precepting, and participation in research or professional presentations.
  • Participates in quality improvement, risk management, and organizational initiatives, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant service delivery.
  • Upholds general professional duties including advocacy, incident reporting, infection control, and supporting organizational development and change.

Qualifications

  • Holds an MSc in ABA, Psychology, or Special Education, with board certification as BCBA/IBA from BACB or IBAO.
  • Has 3+ years of experience delivering behavior therapy across age groups in interdisciplinary and behavioral‑health settings, ideally including residential care.
  • Experienced in supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities, cognitive impairments, challenging behaviors, and varying physical disabilities.
