BigID Privacy Engineer (9 months Fixed Contract)

Role Overview

Data Discovery & Classification

• Configure BigID connectors to scan and classify personal data across structured databases, cloud storage, SaaS applications, and unstructured repositories in line with approved privacy requirements.
• Build and maintain a data inventory and lineage maps; define and refine classification policies, labels, and sensitivity attributes across all in-scope data sources.
• Tune discovery scans for accuracy, reduce false positives, and expand coverage as new data sources are onboarded.

Consent Management

• Configure and manage the BigID Consent Management module to capture, store, and audit consent records in line with regulatory requirements.
• Maintain preference centers and ensure consent records are accurate, timestamped, and audit-ready for regulatory review.

Cookie Consent Management

• Deploy and manage the Cookie Consent Management module: integrate with web properties, define consent categories, and configure banner behavior to meet applicable regulations.
• Maintain cookie inventories, ensure ongoing compliance with consent capture requirements, and support periodic reviews and updates.

Dsr Handling

• Implement end-to-end Data Subject Rights workflows covering access, deletion, portability, and rectification requests, including intake forms, task routing, approvals, and fulfilment tracking.
• Collaborate with legal and IT teams to ensure DSR fulfilment timelines meet regulatory deadlines and that all actions are logged for auditability.

Retention & Deletion

• Configure data retention schedules and automated deletion and disposal workflows aligned to approved retention policies, legal holds, and data minimization principles.
• Coordinate with data owners to validate disposal actions and maintain evidence of compliant data lifecycle management.

General

• Monitor platform health, scan completeness, and workflow SLA adherence; triage and resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Support continuous improvement cycles across all modules, incorporating feedback from privacy, legal, and operational stakeholders.

Platform

• Hands-on experience configuring BigID for data discovery, classification, and inventory across structured and unstructured data sources, including high-volume telco environments.
• Proven ability to set up and manage BigID Apps including DSR, Privacy Portal, Consent Management, and Retention.
• Experience configuring connectors for relational databases, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), SharePoint, and SaaS applications.
• Familiarity with BigID scanning policies, attribute classification, correlation rules, and labelling frameworks, including classification of sensitive subscriber and MSISDN-linked personal data.
• Ability to configure and manage BigID workflows, task routing, and notification rules for DSR and retention processes.

Privacy & Compliance

• Familiarity with GDPR and its operational requirements including lawful basis, data subject rights, retention obligations, and breach notification.
• Familiarity with UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on Personal Data Protection (PDPL) and its implementing requirements.
• Understanding of consent frameworks, cookie compliance requirements, and preference management best practices.
• Familiarity with data retention schedule design, legal hold concepts, and data minimization principles.
• Previous experience working with government sector clients or government organizations.
