Position Summary

  • The Bartender is responsible for delivering an exceptional beverage experience by preparing and serving high quality alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages while providing outstanding guest service.
  • The role ensures compliance with hotel standards, hygiene regulations and responsible alcohol service practices.
  • The Bartender maintains an inviting bar atmosphere, contributes to guest satisfaction and supports the Food & Beverage team in achieving operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes and guest preferences.
  • Ensure consistency in beverage quality, presentation, and taste.
  • Recommend cocktails, wines, spirits and beverages based on guest preferences.
  • Create memorable guest experiences through personalised and engaging service.
  • Verify the legal drinking age of guests and comply with UAE alcohol regulations.
  • Maintain speed, accuracy, and professionalism during busy service periods.
  • Welcome guests warmly and provide attentive, personalised service.
  • Build rapport with guests while maintaining professionalism.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests and feedback.
  • Handle guest complaints efficiently and escalate concerns when necessary.
  • Promote hotel restaurants, bars, and seasonal beverage offerings.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and presentation of the bar area at all times.

Bar Operations

  • Ensure adequate stock levels of beverages, garnishes, glassware and bar supplies.
  • Assist with inventory counts, stock rotation and beverage requisitions.
  • Minimise wastage through proper handling and portion control.
  • Operate POS systems accurately for billing and cash handling.

Health, Safety & Hygiene

  • Follow hotel hygiene, sanitation, and food safety standards.
  • Ensure all beverages are prepared in compliance with health regulations.
  • Maintain clean bar equipment and utensils.
  • Adhere to workplace health and safety procedures.
  • Practice responsible alcohol service and ensure guest safety.

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with servers, barbacks, kitchen staff and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
  • Support colleagues during peak business periods.
  • Participate in departmental training and continuous learning.
  • Contribute positively to a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or certification in Hospitality, Food & Beverage or a related field preferred.
  • Professional Bartending Certification, WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) certification, and Mixology certification are mandatory.
  • Candidates must demonstrate strong knowledge of wines, spirits, cocktails, premium beverages, and advanced mixology techniques.
  • Minimum 4 5 years of bartending experience in a luxury hotel, fine dining restaurant or upscale bar.
  • Experience in a five star luxury hospitality environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of international cocktail preparation and premium beverage service.
