This is a fully remote, flexible contract role open to engineers across India.
Engagement Details
- The engagement is an hourly contract.
- Expected commitment is 10 to 40 hours per week.
Workplace
- The role is fully remote and allows work from anywhere.
- The work is performed asynchronously with distributed teams.
What You Will Do
- Design, develop, and maintain back-end services, APIs, and data pipelines.
- Build scalable server-side architecture for AI training and inference workloads.
- Write clean, documented, and testable code.
- Integrate databases, message queues, cloud services, and third-party APIs.
- Optimize performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Troubleshoot production issues, conduct code reviews, and contribute to architecture decisions.
- Work independently on task-based and project-based assignments on your own schedule.
Who You Are
- Proficiency in one or more of Python, Go, Java, Node.js, Rust, or a similar back-end language.
- Understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Experience with relational or NoSQL databases.
- Comfort with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Strong independent problem-solving, asynchronous working, and communication skills.
Nice to Have
- AI or machine-learning infrastructure experience is preferred.
- Apache Kafka, Spark, Airflow, performance optimization, caching, high-throughput systems, security, serverless, or event-driven design experience is preferred.
- Open-source contributions or a strong professional or personal portfolio are preferred.
