About the Role
Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi is seeking an AV Specialist to set up, operate, and maintain audio-visual equipment for events and meetings. The role requires 1-2 years of repair and maintenance experience, good English communication, and computer literacy.

Responsibilities
- Check AV equipment before events to ensure full operation and repair when necessary
- Assist guests with audio, video, and projection device interfaces in banquet and meeting rooms
- Lock and secure equipment when not in use
- Tape down and dress all loose wire and cable
- Break down and remove equipment from meeting rooms promptly after events
- Instruct guests on proper usage and operation of AV equipment
- Assist guests with establishing Internet connections in banquet and meeting rooms
- Secure equipment to cart when transporting
- Check delivered equipment and room setup against Banquet Event Order before events
- Monitor equipment operation at appropriate intervals during events
- Perform preventive maintenance on AV equipment including changing bulbs and cleaning
- Label broken equipment with description of problem and communicate to manager/supervisor
Requirements
- Minimum education in Sound engineering or Data communication and Transmission
- Minimum 1 2 years of repair and maintenance experience
- Good knowledge of machines and preventive procedures
- Good English communication skills (written and spoken)
- Computer literate
- Professional disposition with good communication and interpersonal skills

Job Description
- Check AV equipment before event begins to ensure it is fully operational, and repair equipment when necessary.
- Assist guests/customers with ensuring the interface of audio, video, and projection devices in banquet and meeting rooms.
- Lock and secure equipment when not in use.
- Tape down and dress all loose wire and cable.
- Break down and remove equipment from meeting rooms promptly following event and return to secure storage location.
- Instruct guests/customers about proper usage and operation of AV equipment at each assigned event.
- Assist guests/customers with establishing an Internet connection in banquet and meeting rooms.
- Secure equipment to cart when transporting, taking care to protect both equipment and people from harm.
- Check delivered equipment and room set up against Banquet Event Order before event begins to ensure accuracy against flowsheets.
- Monitor equipment operation at appropriate intervals during each assigned event.
- Perform preventive maintenance on AV equipment and materials, including changing bulbs and cleaning equipment as required.
- Label any broken equipment with a tag that includes a description of the problem and communicate problem to manager/supervisor.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Complies with the hotel’s rules and regulations.
- Checks and ensures that the jobs assigned have been effectively completed on a timely basis.
- Recommends corrective actions for unfavorable variances in job standards and budget commitment.
- Proposes and executes an effective duty to ensure sufficiency of manpower in accordance to volume of business.
- Establishes two way communication within and related departments.
- Communicates effectively with guests, subordinates, immediate supervisors and other section heads.
- Attends daily briefing and departmental meetings as assigned by supervisor.
- Manages time effectively by meeting deadlines on time.
- Identifies and solves problems in a professional manner.
- Assists others to ensure the operation is run smoothly and effectively.
Technical Responsibilities
- Knows, understands, and reviews the job description of all positions in the department and be able to perform the task as required.
- Knows and understands policies of the department well and can guide others to perform the job well.
- Recognizes and able to manage to maintain good quality products and presentation.
- Checks, reviews, and proposes service standards established by the company.
- Provides assistance to the other employees when required.
- Maintains self and all personnel’s grooming standards.

- Maintains the requisition point and par stock of products used in the department, spare parts, and engineering supplies.
Commercial Responsibilities
- Communicates effectively with guest, clients, business partners and staff.
- To be a good sales person to promote hotel’s image and businesses.
- Participates the company’s, hotel’s, and community projects or activities in order to promoting the hotel’s image and cooperation to improve community relationship.
Job Requirement
- Minimum education of Sound engineering or Data communication and Transmission.
- Minimum of 1 2 years of repair & maintenance experience. Hand on experience with machines and equipments used in large building or Hotels is highly desirable.
- Good knowledge and understanding of machines and the preventive procedures.
- Have good English communication skills both in written and spoken.
- Computer literate.
- Possess professional disposition with good communication and interpersonal skills.
