Core Assurance delivers audits intended to build trust, support regulatory compliance, and strengthen financial reporting transparency.

Role overview

The Audit Manager manages a client portfolio and the full cycle of external audit assignments.

The role covers audit strategy, execution, client relationships, business development, technical challenges, compliance, and team development.

Audit and client responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day client liaison and technical issues across a portfolio of clients.
  • Design audit strategy and manage execution in alignment with engagement leader guidance.
  • Advise clients on financial reporting and regulatory developments.
  • Manage large projects and ensure key deadlines are met.
  • Present to senior management, boards of directors, and audit committees.
  • Ensure compliance with risk, quality, and independence matters.

Leadership and business development

  • Identify and research business development opportunities with new and existing clients.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Develop strategies for complex technical challenges and strengthen team technical capability.
  • Coach, mentor, and support the development and wellbeing of team members.
  • Participate in interviewing and selecting candidates.
  • Encourage digital initiatives, audit transformation technologies, and alternative delivery models.

Required qualifications

  • A degree in accounting, finance, or another related academic major is required.
  • At least 6–8 years of external financial audit experience at a Big Four firm is required.
  • A recognized professional qualification such as ACCA, CA, ACA, or CPA is required.
  • Knowledge of ISAs, IFRS, relevant financial services regulations, and financial reporting developments is required.
  • Strong project management, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required.

Additional experience and capabilities

  • Banking or insurance audit experience is an asset.
  • Arabic and English bilingual proficiency is a plus.
  • Audit technology knowledge and data analytics experience are advantageous.
  • The role requires relationship building, collaboration, constructive challenge, resilience, innovation, and commitment to professional development.
