About the Role
The Associate Data Analyst role is for a fresh graduate or early-career candidate on an analytical engineering path.
The role combines data analysis and data engineering to create trustworthy, well-modeled, and AI-ready datasets.
Data Modeling and Analytics
- Model and transform data, build reusable fact and dimension tables, and contribute to a scalable metrics layer.
- Answer ad hoc questions, create reusable self-service assets, and translate ambiguous business questions into measurable analyses.
AI-Ready Data
- Package datasets and metrics with clear grain, business definitions, data contracts, examples, and documentation for reliable AI use.
- Create glossaries, metric definitions, common queries, and pitfalls documentation, and partner with AI and platform teams on safe access.
Quality and Collaboration
- Write tests, checks, and monitoring for important datasets and metrics, troubleshoot issues, and improve source-to-reporting reliability.
- Collaborate with data engineers on schemas, event tracking, and pipeline improvements, and communicate findings clearly.
Responsible AI Use
- Use AI to accelerate SQL drafting, code scaffolding, and documentation while validating outputs and protecting sensitive data.
Required Expertise
- Be a fresh graduate or have less than one year of relevant experience; internships, projects, and part-time roles count.
- Have solid SQL fundamentals, one programming language for analysis, basic data manipulation and statistics skills, and strong analytical thinking.
- Demonstrate attention to detail, commitment to accurate outputs, and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Nice to Have
- Exposure to data modeling, modern analytics stacks, AI-ready data assets, responsible AI assistants, Git, product analytics, or responsible data handling is advantageous.
Success Measures
Produce structured analyses with clear assumptions and validation steps and contribute reliable datasets or transformations used by analytics teams.
Enable more self-service and AI-assisted exploration, debug unexpected results, and explain root causes.
