You Are

  • A curious and collaborative life sciences creative copy leader with deep oncology experience.
  • Proactive, self motivated, inspirational, with strong writing and analytical skills.
  • Experienced in MLR reviews, client facing presentations, and mentoring.

The Work

  • Copy/content leader with background in writing for healthcare audiences (HCPs, patients, caregivers).
  • Develop content that captures interest, builds trust, and works in a highly regulated industry.
  • Collaborate with art/visual design, client services, performance marketers, data/analytics, and strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pitch and present work internally and with clients, demonstrating understanding of strategic objectives.
  • Leverage copywriting skills to write engaging content for pharmaceutical and/or medical technology sectors.
  • Ensure all content complies with FDA and/or PAAB medical compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to understand brand guidelines, tone, and voice.
  • Write long form and short form copy for email, digital ads, direct mail, SMS, sales collateral, websites.
  • Write creative subject lines and strong CTAs that impact marketing performance.
  • Align content strategy and copy to drive acquisition, engagement, and retention.
  • Consume research and glean insights into different audiences to build user centered content.
  • Ensure all copy is consistent with clients' style, quality, and tone of voice.
  • Manage time and set clear expectations by staying organized with deadlines.

Here’s what you’ll need

  • 6+ years of copywriting experience at a pharma/life sciences advertising agency or related industry.
  • Proven success copywriting in the pharma space (must have).
  • FDA content submission experience.
  • Experience directing and overseeing teams of copywriters.
  • Portfolio/book of published work including life sciences examples.
  • Employees required to maintain working hours aligned with Eastern Standard Time (EST).
  • Minimum high school diploma or GED/CAEC.
  • English required for interactions with stakeholders across Canada, US and other countries.

Bonus points if

  • University degree.
  • PAAB content experience.
  • Understanding of engaging Healthcare Professionals and Patient audiences.
  • Experience learning about audience segments and developing content tailoring.
  • Love for writing and storytelling in both long and short form.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and cross functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to balance competing priorities with tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with developing content/copy within regulated industries – ideally pharmaceuticals or MedTech.

Compensation

  • Compensation varies depending on office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
  • Base pay range for British Columbia/Ontario: CAD 39.71 to CAD 63.75 per hour.
