About the Role

The Assistant Restaurant Manager works in the Food and Beverage Department at Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi.

The role provides an outstanding guest experience by assisting with management of the outlet service team in cooperation with the culinary team.

The position reports to the Restaurant Manager and follows Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental service standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead professional guest service, cleanliness, organization, setup, opening, and closing standards for the outlet.
  • Train employees on the outlet concept, services, products, menus, service standards, and department procedures.
  • Coordinate menu design and tastings with the Head Chef, Chef Sommelier, and Sommelier.
  • Drive upselling, guest satisfaction, product quality, revenue, profit, and effective outlet cost control.
  • Use the POS system, prepare outlet reports, analyze performance, and present findings in monthly meetings.
  • Assist with budgets, inventory, operating supplies, equipment, spoilage, wastage, sales settlement, and outlet floats.
  • Manage staffing, payroll control, flexible scheduling, and coordination with other Food and Beverage departments.
  • Conduct pre-shift, staff, kitchen, and training meetings and support continuous team development.
  • Handle guest enquiries and complaints, report incidents, assign responsibilities, and monitor employee performance.

Candidate Expectations

  • At least two years of experience in the same role in a luxury property is required.
  • International work experience in at least two of Asia, Europe, North America, or the Middle East is required.
  • A bachelor's degree in Hotel Management is preferred.
  • Resort experience and hotel or bar pre-opening or renovation experience are preferred.
  • Self-confidence, conviction, integrity, and trustworthiness are expected.
