Position Summary

  • The Business Introductory Course Instructor is responsible for delivering high quality instruction providing students with an early introduction to fundamental business concepts.
  • This position serves to orient students to their field of study and build foundational disciplinary knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach introductory business courses such as Introduction to Business Concepts, Principles of Management, or Business in a Global Context.
  • Deliver engaging instruction using case studies, industry examples, and real world problems.
  • Participate in curriculum development and continuous program improvement.
  • Develop engaging lesson plans aligned with course objectives and institutional standards.
  • Create a supportive, inclusive learning environment that encourages curiosity and critical thinking.
  • Support students through office hours, academic advising, major selection guidance, and pastoral care.
  • Assess student understanding through various formative and summative assessment methods.
  • Collaborate with business program faculty to ensure alignment with degree program requirements.
  • Maintain detailed records of student progress and attendance.
  • Participate in department meetings and professional development activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Business Management, or closely related field from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 2 years of professional teaching experience at the university level or equivalent professional practice.
  • Strong subject matter expertise in core business concepts and knowledge of current trends.
  • Fluency in English (written and oral) to support teaching in an English medium academic environment.
  • Experience teaching in international or English medium academic programs (preferred).
  • Professional experience in industry or practice within business (preferred).
  • Familiarity with case based learning, problem based learning, or project based learning pedagogies (preferred).
