Assistant Manager Reporting (Finance)

Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and consolidate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and financial statements.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities and complete reporting requirements accurately and on time.
• Prepare management reports, financial analysis, and variance analysis to support business decisions.
• Support statutory and regulatory financial reporting in accordance with applicable UAE requirements.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS and relevant accounting standards, including IFRS 17 requirements for insurers.
• Coordinate with external auditors and prepare schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate and resolve reporting discrepancies.
• Support insurance contract and reinsurance accounting and reporting activities where applicable.
• Enhance financial reporting processes, controls, systems, and reporting efficiency.
• Work with actuarial, underwriting, claims, reinsurance, and other business functions.
• Support finance projects, process improvements, and ad hoc financial analysis.

Qualifications and experience

• Fully qualified CA or ACCA is mandatory.
• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is required.
• Four to seven years of relevant experience in financial reporting, accounting, or finance is required.
• Previous insurance industry experience is highly preferred.
• Experience in financial reporting and preparation or review of financial statements is required.
• Knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards is required.
• Practical IFRS 17 knowledge is highly advantageous.
• UAE insurance statutory or regulatory reporting experience is preferred.
• Experience working with external auditors is required.

Required capabilities

• Strong understanding of financial reporting, accounting principles, and IFRS is required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail are required.
• Good understanding of insurance accounting and financial reporting processes is required.
• Strong Excel and financial reporting skills are required; ERP or finance systems experience is desirable.
• The role requires deadline management, accurate delivery under pressure, and strong stakeholder communication.
• The role requires effective collaboration with finance, actuarial, underwriting, reinsurance, and other teams.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills are required.
