About the Role
Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) seeks an Assistant Manager - Quality & Lean to lead continuous improvement projects using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma. The role requires coaching teams, managing productivity projects, and driving business transformation in a heavy manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver the company’s Lean and Six Sigma strategy to ensure business improvements and cost savings
- Facilitate, identify and recommend improvement projects to support annual objectives
- Drive visibility and awareness of Lean Manufacturing by tracking continuous improvement status and cost savings
- Align Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma deployment with department strategy and prioritize projects
- Act as mentor and coach to Area managers and Sr. Lean & Quality engineers
- Lead complex high visibility lean projects across Operational departments
- Manage Lean project portfolios, conduct Kaizen events, lead Black/Green Belt training
- Develop Visual Management Systems to drive daily operations for continuous improvement
- Support execution of Lean Manufacturing & Business Transformation strategy at EGA Site
- Complete productivity projects identified internally or by Senior Management
Requirements
- Recognised Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Industrial or Mechanical preferred) or Science
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
- At least 6 years’ experience in Lean Management in aluminium smelter, alumina refinery or heavy manufacturing, or 10 years in Lean Manufacturing environment
- Experience teaching Lean and/or Six Sigma and mentoring projects preferred
- Thorough knowledge of Lean Manufacturing system
- Strong Leadership and Management Skills
- Excellent written and spoken English

Job Purpose
- To serve as a change agent, developing, coordinating, facilitating and leading continuous improvement projects under Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma for Company Sites through Lean & Quality Engineers.
- Responsible for coaching and mentoring on Lean & Six Sigma tools and methodologies, coaching project champions and process owners, and developing future leaders of Lean Manufacturing.
- Responsible for completing productivity projects assigned from Higher Management and Manager Lean & Business Transformation.
- Contribute to enhancement of Business efficiencies by developing and implementing world class strategies.
- Develop/Customize and Manage site specific implementation, maintenance and improvement of Lean Manufacturing & Business Transformation.
Key Accountabilities
- Leads and delivers the company’s Lean and Six Sigma strategy that will ensure business improvements and significant business impact.
- Monitors, reviews and resolves deviations & reports on actual performance/expenditure against strategy.
- Facilitate, identify and recommend improvement projects/proposals to support annual objectives.
- Assist areas in preparing annual plan for potential improvement areas, kaizen events, projects.
- Drives visibility and awareness of Lean Manufacturing by tracking continuous improvement status, cost savings, training certifications, Lean project status.
- Aligns Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma deployment with department strategy and prioritizes projects.
- Acts as mentor and coach to Area managers and Sr. Lean & Quality engineers.
- Leads complex high visibility lean projects across Operational departments.
- Manages Lean project portfolios, conducts Kaizen events, leads Black/Green Belt training.
- Works with Area process managers to develop, analyse and implement improved cross functional systems.
- Develops Visual Management Systems to drive daily operations.
- Supports execution of company’s Lean Manufacturing & Business Transformation strategy at EGA Site.
Qualifications & Skills
- Recognised Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Industrial or Mechanical preferred) or Science.
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification.
- At least 6 years’ experience in Lean Management in aluminium smelter, alumina refinery or heavy manufacturing, or 10 years in Lean Manufacturing environment.
- Experience teaching Lean and/or Six Sigma and mentoring projects is preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of Lean Manufacturing system.
- Strong Leadership and Management Skills.
