Assistant Manager – Process Governance & Internal Controls

Role Summary

Process Governance and Controls

• Support development and implementation of a process governance framework across business units.
• Document standard operating procedures for key business processes.
• Participate in process audits and identify gaps and improvement areas.
• Assist with internal control mechanisms for process performance and compliance.
• Establish KPIs and metrics to measure process efficiency and effectiveness.
• Analyze process performance data and support corrective actions for deviations and non-compliance.

Team and Stakeholder Management

• Work with the Manager to lead, train, and mentor process analysts.
• Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to team members.
• Manage staffing levels and team workloads.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, Audit, Risk Management, senior management, and IT.
• Provide updates on process governance initiatives and outcomes.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation.
• Support process improvement projects that enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
• Stay current with industry practices and trends in process governance and internal controls.
• Assist with change-management strategies for adoption of new processes.

Functional and Technical Competencies

• Strong knowledge of process governance frameworks and internal control mechanisms.
• Proficiency in process mapping and documentation tools such as Visio or Lucidchart.
• Experience with Lean or Six Sigma process-improvement methodologies.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Ability to analyze complex data and generate actionable insights.

Education and Experience

• A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field is required.
• At least seven years of experience in process governance, internal controls, or operations management is required.
• Retail or FMCG experience is preferred.
• Experience supporting process-improvement projects and managing a team is required.

Certifications

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or similar certification is preferred.
• Process-governance or risk-management certification is a plus.
