Job Summary

The Assistant Manager supports daily Human Resource Office activities, including recruitment, total compensation, training, and development.

The role delivers HR services that support employees and business success while maintaining compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and procedures.

The position is full time and located at the Sheraton property in Doha.

Education and Experience

  • A high school diploma or GED plus two years of relevant HR, management operations, or related professional experience is acceptable.
  • Alternatively, a two-year degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related major is acceptable with no work experience required.

Recruitment and Hiring

  • Assist with interviewing and hiring HR team members as needed.
  • Maintain external recruitment contacts, attend job fairs, and document outreach efforts.
  • Network with local organizations and assist with candidate identification, selection, and quality control.

Benefits and Claims

  • Respond to unemployment claims, review provider reports for accuracy, and attend unemployment hearings when needed.
  • Assist with unemployment claim activity reports and periodic claims reviews.
  • Assist with workers’ compensation claims to support employee care and manage costs.

Training and Employee Relations

  • Coordinate departmental orientation and new-hire training programs and ensure attendance by new hires and leadership.
  • Support employee communication channels, property-wide meetings, and communication of performance expectations.
  • Review progressive discipline documentation, address employee concerns, and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Partner with Loss Prevention on employee accident investigations when needed.

Legal and Compliance Practices

  • Maintain employee files with required employment, performance, and compensation documentation for the required retention period.
  • Support audits and access controls for employee files and maintain compliance with the Privacy Act.
  • Maintain confidential medical records separately and securely.
  • Facilitate applicable drug testing and communicate property rules, safety, security, and hygiene policies.
