About the Role

Responsibilities
- Assist during induction, maintenance of anaesthesia during surgery and recovery from anaesthesia post surgery
- Check anesthesia machine every morning prior to surgery to ensure gas scavenging and suction apparatus are attached and functioning
- Provide assistance to anesthetist in assembling equipment and supplies for administration of anesthesia
- Perform cleaning of equipment and storing of supplies; clean anesthesia work spaces and storage areas
- Work with a wide variety of equipment for anesthesia administration, patient monitoring, and life support systems
- Understand sequence of procedures for rapid induction and intubation in emergency cases
- Position patients for surgery and those requiring spinal or epidural anesthesia with sterile technique
- Assist anesthetists with starting I.V. infusion
- Share on call rotation for emergency surgeries during nights, weekends, and holidays
- Maintain awareness of safety hazards and take necessary action to prevent accidents
Requirements
- Anesthesia Technician program with minimum 4 years course duration from nationally recognized institution/college
- Minimum 3 years experience after qualification and registration/license to practice
- Currently licensed in country of origin and with DOH license to practice in Abu Dhabi, UAE
- Fluent in spoken & written English; Arabic is desirable but not essential
