- Collaborate with clinical informatics leaders, IT teams, and governance bodies to ensure clinical safety, usability, and adherence to provincial standards
- Partner with medical, technical, and clinical operations stakeholders to explore and implement AI solutions such as predictive analytics, generative models, and ambient scribe technologies
- Lead and support change management strategies that facilitate the successful adoption and integration of AI features within digital health solutions
- Champion user engagement, promote system usability, and monitor the impact on patient care, workflow efficiencies, and compliance with ethical guidelines
- Support the coordination of complex, multi stakeholder AI initiatives within the Digital Health portfolio, engaging both internal teams and external partners
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in a healthcare related field (e.g., Nursing, Allied Health, Health Informatics, Health Sciences)
- Active professional license or registration in good standing, if applicable
- 5+ years of experience leading organizational change for programs or organizations of significant size and complexity, including leadership experience
- Demonstrated experience with the Epic Clinical Information System
- Working knowledge of healthcare organizations including governance structure and clinical informatics
- Strong understanding of clinical workflows and healthcare operations
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Experience in digital health or informatics
- Knowledge of change management principles
- Certification in leadership, process improvement, project management, or change management (e.g., PROSCI) preferred
- Connect Care experience preferred

- Health Shared Services is seeking a Clinical Informatics Lead (CIL) – Artificial Intelligence (AI) to join the Clinical Operations Informatics Office.
- We ensure digital tools like Connect Care support clinical workflows, enhance patient care, and align with provincial goals and are now introducing AI tools to further support our users.
- We advocate for front line clinicians and guide them through technology adoption using effective communication and change management strategies.
- Reporting to the Clinical Operations Readiness (CORe) Lead, the CIL plays a key role in advancing the integration of AI capabilities into digital systems ensuring their safe, ethical, and effective use while supporting the delivery of high quality, patient centered care.
- This role supports identification, prioritization and implementation of AI tools in healthcare settings contributing to the continuous transformation of Alberta’s health ecosystem.

- The Clinical Informatics Lead (CIL) – Artificial Intelligence (AI) supports the strategic planning, implementation, and continuous optimization of AI tools in the Connect Care Clinical Information System.
- The role requires extensive collaboration with clinical informatics leaders, IT teams, and governance bodies to ensure clinical safety, usability, and adherence to provincial standards.
- The CIL will partner with medical, technical, and clinical operations stakeholders to explore and implement AI solutions—such as predictive analytics, generative models, and ambient scribe technologies—designed to enhance clinical workflow efficiency, support clinical and corporate decision making,
- A key function of this role is to lead and support change management strategies that facilitate the successful adoption and integration of AI features within digital health solutions.
- The CIL will champion user engagement, promote system usability, and monitor the impact on patient care, workflow efficiencies, and compliance with ethical guidelines.
- This role requires clinical informatics knowledge, strong leadership and influencing skills, and the ability to navigate politically sensitive issues with significant organizational impact.
- The successful candidate will support the coordination of complex, multi stakeholder AI initiatives within the Digital Health portfolio, engaging both internal teams and external partners.
Required Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in a healthcare related field (e.g., Nursing, Allied Health, Health Informatics, Health Sciences).
- Active professional license or registration in good standing, if applicable.
