About the Job

  • Develops and manages documentation, policies, procedures, and compliance aspects of energy management.
  • Ensures alignment with latest industry standards and regulations.
  • Provides guidance for implementing regulations and develops training programs.

Job Specific Accountabilities Part 1

  • Collect and analyze data on fuel consumption, energy use, and emissions.
  • Prepare and publish reports on compliance status, emission levels, and energy performance using Power BI and Tableau.
  • Conduct regular audits of fleet and department documentation.
  • Engage with stakeholders to promote energy efficiency initiatives.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities and industry stakeholders.
  • Act as point of contact for communication and reporting to regulatory bodies.
  • Provide strategic advice to the energy management department.
  • Monitor and predict regulatory changes from IMO and other authorities.
  • Conduct regulatory assessments to identify gaps.
  • Evaluate regulatory impact on operational aspects for EEXI and CII standards.

Job Specific Accountabilities Part 2

  • Ensure cohesive compliance planning with detailed plans and timelines.
  • Manage verification and reporting of emissions data to relevant authorities.
  • Oversee entire document lifecycle for accuracy and accessibility.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops on new regulations and energy efficiency.
  • Develop educational materials tailored to different roles.
  • Represent organization at industry forums and conferences.
  • Provide support for ad hoc tasks and assist Team Leader in coordinating operational activities.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Management, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • Preferred: Advanced degree (e.g., Master's) in relevant discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years in energy management with significant advisory experience in maritime industry.
  • Proven expertise in strategic advisory and leading energy optimization initiatives.
  • Regulatory expertise with experience in compliance and risk management.
  • Strong strategic thinking and advisory skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Proficiency in energy management software and tools.
  • Advanced skills in Power BI and Microsoft Excel.

Professional Certifications

  • Preferred: Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP).
  • Preferred: Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or similar certification.
  • Preferred: ISO 50001 Lead Auditor Certification.
