Responsibilities

• Process vendor payments through EFT, wire transfer, or cheque and resolve payment issues.
• Validate and post freight and rail invoices using three-way matching.
• Monitor freight accruals and clear unused or excess accruals during month-end close.
• Reconcile vendor accounts and monthly statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders on payment and billing issues.
• Respond promptly and professionally to vendor and internal customer inquiries.
• Verify vendor banking information through callbacks to support fraud prevention and payment security.
• Monitor accounts payable activity using system-generated reports and financial data.
• Analyze payment trends and provide insights for working capital management.
• Maintain documentation and digital filing systems for policy and audit compliance.
• Contribute to process improvements and end-user training guides.
• Support audits, accounting tasks, reporting initiatives, and special projects.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent work experience may be considered.
• At least 1 year of accounts payable or finance-related experience is required.
• Strong knowledge of invoice processing, three-way matching, and payment reconciliation is required.
• Experience with EFT, wire, or cheque payments and/or payment reconciliation is required.
• Analytical, problem-solving, organizational, communication, and documentation skills are required.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite proficiency is required.
• Logistics, manufacturing, or recycling industry experience is advantageous.

Compensation

• The annual salary range is $50,000 to $60,000.
