Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Accountant with a strong background in audit and business setup operations.
The role requires hands-on accounting experience and understanding of financial processes in a UAE business setup, company formation, or corporate services environment.
Accounting Responsibilities
- Manage general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, invoicing, payments, receipts, and expenses.
- Prepare financial statements, management reports, supporting schedules, and financial reports for business setup operations.
- Perform bank, customer, supplier, client, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Monitor receivables and payables and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Review transactions, identify discrepancies or control issues, and maintain accurate financial records.
Audit and Tax Responsibilities
- Prepare audit schedules, working papers, and documentation for internal and external audits.
- Coordinate with auditors and respond to audit queries.
- Support VAT and Corporate Tax-related accounting and documentation.
- Ensure financial documents are maintained and available for audit purposes.
Business Setup Operations
- Work with the Business Setup team to record company formation, licensing, government service, and related transactions accurately.
- Reconcile client accounts and allocate payments and service charges correctly.
- Review revenue and expenses related to Business Setup services.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of accounting or finance experience, including at least 1 year in a senior accounting role.
- Previous audit experience is required.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, GAAP, and financial reporting standards.
- Good understanding of UAE VAT and Corporate Tax.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, organizational, and accuracy skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a business setup, company formation, corporate services, government services, or audit firm environment is preferred.
- UAE accounting experience is preferred.
- CPA, ACCA, CA, CMA, or an equivalent qualification is advantageous.
