About The Role

  • Remitly is hiring an Account Manager for Francophone Africa to drive commercial, product and operational performance of strategic money movement partners in North and West Africa.
  • Partners may include banks, aggregators, mobile wallets, regulators and other third parties.
  • The role also assists with new partner onboarding and supports stakeholder management for regulators in key markets.

You Will

  • Jointly drive regional strategy with BD head of region and develop a tiered partner strategy and annual plan for North and West Africa.
  • Engage in quarterly planning with cross functional teams including product and treasury to develop goals and priorities.
  • Own and drive initiatives with key strategic partners, driving key metrics including cost efficiencies, speed, quality, working capital efficiencies and new product enablement.
  • Negotiate renewals, amendments, economics and expand product footprint while driving partnerships growth.
  • Identify opportunities for growth and optimisation using analysis and insights.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews with largest partners and develop action plans for improvement.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders, including regulatory authorities and industry associations.
  • Work closely across internal teams to navigate challenges and mitigate risks.
  • Coordinate responses to inbound and outbound queries related to partner operations and performance.
  • Serve as point of contact for resolving complex partner escalations.
  • Analyze partner scorecards, metrics, and assessments to drive continuous improvement.
  • Liaise with relevant Remitly teams to orchestrate successful onboarding of new partners.

You Have

  • 7+ years of strategic partnerships experience in the Remittance / Payments space.
  • Multilingual and fluent French speakers are a must.
  • Robust understanding of consumer payments and cross border money movements.
  • Good understanding of the West and North Africa remittance and payments landscape.
  • Demonstrated cross functional communication skills and relationship building experience.
  • Strong communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills.
  • Exposure to regulators relations would be a good to have.
  • Extremely self motivated and curious.
  • Strategic and go getter mindset.
  • Ability to anticipate future market, business or product problems.
  • Frequent travelling is expected.
