About The Role

  • HUB International is seeking a motivated and client focused Account Executive to join our Commercial Lines team in Ontario.
  • This role is responsible for developing and growing a portfolio of mid market commercial clients by delivering tailored insurance and risk management solutions.
  • The ideal candidate is a strong relationship builder with a proven track record in business development and a solid understanding of commercial insurance products.

Business Development

  • Prospect, develop, and close new mid market commercial accounts.
  • Build and manage a consistent sales pipeline to achieve revenue and growth targets.
  • Identify opportunities to provide comprehensive, multi line insurance solutions including property, liability, automobile, cyber, and other specialty coverages.
  • Develop referral sources and maintain strong professional networks within the Ontario business community.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to maximize cross selling opportunities.

Client Management

  • Act as a trusted advisor to commercial clients, providing strategic guidance on risk management and insurance program design.
  • Participate in renewal planning, coverage reviews, and client strategy discussions alongside service teams.
  • Stay informed on market conditions, underwriting trends, and regulatory developments affecting Ontario businesses.
  • Support long term client retention through proactive engagement and responsive service.

Carrier & Market Engagement

  • Maintain productive relationships with insurance carriers and underwriters.
  • Negotiate terms and structure competitive solutions to meet client needs.
  • Represent HUB in the marketplace through networking and industry involvement.

Qualifications and expertise that pave the way for Success

  • 5+ years of commercial insurance experience, with a strong focus on new business development and relationship management.
  • RIBO license or ability to obtain quickly
  • Proven success building a profitable mid market book of business within Ontario’s commercial sector.
  • Strong understanding of commercial P&C coverages and underwriting principles across diverse industries.
  • Established market presence and network of referral partners.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Self starter with an entrepreneurial approach and commitment to collaboration.
  • CIP, CAIB, or CRM designations are considered an asset.

Compensation

  • The compensation for this position is a variable compensation structure, i.e., discretionary draw plus commission.
  • The expected draw plus commission will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location.
