Role Overview

Investigate road traffic accidents occurring within the project network.

Identify root causes, assess infrastructure and operational factors, and recommend corrective and preventive measures.

Support road safety strategies and compliance with client standards, international best practices, and contractual O&M obligations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend accident locations and conduct detailed investigations.
  • Collect and analyze police reports, CCTV footage, site inspections, and witness information.
  • Identify causes involving roadway geometry, signage, pavement, lighting, traffic control devices, and driver behavior.
  • Prepare reports with findings, diagrams, and recommendations.
  • Analyze accident trends and black spots and maintain an accident database.
  • Conduct road safety inspections and audits.
  • Recommend signage, road marking, traffic calming, junction, lighting, barrier, and speed management improvements.
  • Liaise with traffic police, road authorities, and emergency services.
  • Support client reporting and participate in safety committees and technical meetings.
  • Monitor implemented safety improvements and support road safety programs.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, transportation engineering, or traffic engineering.
  • Professional certification in road safety engineering or traffic safety is advantageous.
  • 5–10 years of experience in road safety, traffic engineering, or highway O&M.
  • Experience in accident investigation, road safety audits, highway authorities or major road networks, data analysis, and accident reporting systems.
  • Strong knowledge of road safety engineering, traffic management systems, accident reconstruction principles, and highway design standards.
