Responsibilities
- Manage and expand the customs authorization portfolio (e.g., AEO), ensure compliance with all conditions, and handle renewals and internal checks
- Oversee customs warehouse processes, goods movements, and internal control systems; initiate corrective actions with operations, IT, and external partners
- Define and control standards for HS codes, origin/preferences, Incoterms, and screening processes to ensure EU/UZK compliance
- Manage compliance systems (e.g., Dakosy ZODIAK GE/ATLAS) from an administration and governance perspective, including authorization management and KPI/dashboard monitoring
- Conduct self assessments, maintain SOPs and records, and prepare for customs authority interactions and internal/external audits
- Analyze and optimize processes, define KPIs, and develop sustainable solutions with logistics, warehouse, and customer experience teams
Requirements
- 3 5 years of experience in customs compliance or trade governance (AEO, customs warehouse, export control)
- In depth knowledge of EU customs law (UZK) and export control processes
- Strong documentation and stakeholder management skills
- Proficiency with Dakosy ZODIAK GE/ATLAS or similar customs tools
- Business fluent in German and English
- Experience in ERP environments (e.g., SAP) is a plus

Role Summary
- We are looking for a Trade & Customs Specialist to build and manage the compliance structure for the EMEA Distribution Center in Hamburg.
- You will develop standards, manage customs authorizations, and ensure all compliance processes are audit ready and well documented.
