Responsibilities
- Perform conventional x rays and assist radiologist in special and interventional procedures
- Carry out routine radiographic examinations in line with department policies
- Correctly identify patients and site of exposure before each examination
- Remove all radio opaque materials from patient or table that could interfere with radiographic image
- Verify accuracy of film identification
- Perform aseptic technique before procedures
- Prepare contrast agent for administration
- Document required information on patient log book
- Evaluate radiographs for diagnostic quality
- Prepare and adjust radiographic unit and accessories
- Evaluate need for protective shielding and take precautions to minimize radiation exposure
- Inspect all equipment regularly and report deficiencies to Radiology Manager
Requirements
- Experience in performing conventional x rays and assisting in special and interventional procedures
- Knowledge of aseptic technique
- Ability to prepare contrast agents for administration
- Ability to evaluate radiographs for diagnostic quality
- Knowledge of radiation safety and protective shielding
- Ability to inspect and maintain radiographic equipment
- Participation in orientation and in service educational programs

Job Overview
- To perform conventional x rays, assist radiologist in doing special and interventional procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Carries out routine radiographic examinations in line with the policies and procedures of the department.
- Assists in carrying out specialized radiologic procedures under the supervision of senior staff.
- Responsible for correct identification of patients and site of exposure before each examination.
- Responsible for final reminder of female patients or female companion for the possibility of being pregnant or not.
- Removes all radio opaque materials from patient or table that could interfere with radiographic image.
- Verifies accuracy of film identification.
- Do aseptic technique before doing procedures.
- Prepares contrast agent for administration.
- Documents required information on patient log book.
- Evaluates radiographs for diagnostic quality.
- Prepares and adjusts radiographic unit and accessories.
- Evaluates the need for use protective shielding and take appropriate precautions to minimize radiation exposure to patients and visitors & staff.
