- Prepare patients for IVF procedures, including monitoring and assisting with ovarian stimulation, egg retrieval, and embryo transfer
- Educate patients about the IVF process, including pre procedure preparations and post procedure care
- Administer medications as prescribed, including hormone injections, oral medications, and other fertility treatments
- Monitor patients for side effects and adverse reactions to medications
- Conduct regular assessments of patients health status, including vital signs, symptoms, and response to treatment
- Assist in IVF procedures such as egg retrieval and embryo transfer, ensuring that protocols are followed and patient comfort is maintained
- Provide technical support during laboratory procedures, such as preparing specimens and handling samples
- Educate patients and their families about fertility treatments, including the IVF process, potential outcomes, fall prevention and lifestyle adjustments
- Offer emotional support to patients and their families, addressing any concerns or anxieties related to fertility treatments and procedures
- Facilitate communication between patients and the IVF team to ensure clear understanding of treatment plans and expectations
- Maintain accurate and up to date patient records, including treatment plans, medication administration, and procedural outcomes
- Document any complications, patient interactions, and follow up care instructions
Requirements
- Experience in IVF nursing or fertility treatments
- Ability to administer medications including hormone injections
- Knowledge of infection control procedures
- Strong communication and patient education skills
