Company and Role

CB&I Asset Solutions provides asset management, operations, maintenance, wells, and decommissioning solutions for late-life energy assets.

The Wells Project Manager role is based in Sharjah and manages well delivery activities for energy projects.

The role leads well operations teams and provides operational guidance and planning support to field teams.

Working Arrangement

  • The employer states that most office-based roles use a hybrid approach with employees present in the office at least three days per week.
  • The role includes rig operations, wellsite supervision, field coordination, safety inspections, and operational visits to well sites.

Project and Well Delivery

  • Manage drilling, completion, workover, intervention, stimulation, and well testing programmes.
  • Own the Project Execution Plan, well delivery schedule, cost model or AFE, and change control.
  • Ensure well operations programmes are accurately planned, amended, and executed safely.
  • Maintain the Well Delivery Process and lead peer review and assurance activities.
  • Act as a delegate for the Wells Manager when required.

Team and Stakeholders

  • Build and lead a multidisciplinary well delivery team while coaching engineers and supervisors.
  • Serve as the project focal point through planning, operations, and closeout phases.
  • Coordinate with office and field teams so programme objectives and responsibilities are understood.
  • Lead client meetings, stakeholder communications, weekly reporting, and resolution of client concerns.
  • Manage personnel leave, resourcing, performance, and project-related work continuity.

Planning, Cost and Commercial

  • Develop project plans, schedules, cost models, AFE or budgets, and project reporting.
  • Manage changes affecting schedule, cost, design, operations, or HSEQ risks.
  • Compile and control budgets, approve call-offs and invoices, and follow up on client invoice approvals.
  • Manage tenders, contractor performance, commercial and contract matters, and service quality.
  • Coordinate project actions, lessons learned, and risk reviews using Turus.

HSEQ and Field Operations

  • Develop and implement rig- and project-specific HSEQ plans, permits, and regulatory submissions.
  • Lead wellsite supervision teams in complying with HSEQ, legislative, and project-specific requirements.
  • Coordinate rig operations, logistics, field meetings, contractors, and service providers.
  • Conduct safety and environmental inspection visits to well sites.
  • Lead emergency response activities when required in the absence of the Drilling Superintendent.
  • Ensure accurate operational, HSEQ, cost, and rig-site reporting.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

  • A valid IWCF Level 4 certificate or equivalent is required.
  • Candidates need broad knowledge of drilling, completions, well testing, stimulation, and well services activities.
  • Prior experience managing well operations and multidisciplinary teams of well engineers and supervisors is required.
  • Working knowledge of drilling rigs, rigsite operating procedures, and risk management is required.
  • Experience with MS Project and other office applications is required.

Experience Requirements

  • Prior experience working with international operators is required.
  • Prior experience working in the Middle East region and UAE is required.
  • Strong onshore and offshore experience is required.
  • An engineering degree is preferable but not essential.
  • Strong commercial and contract management experience, including tendering and invoice approval, is required.

Leadership and Delivery Skills

  • The role requires strong HSEQ leadership, regulatory compliance, communication, influencing, and team leadership skills.
  • The successful candidate should be customer focused, results driven, and able to prioritize conflicting HSEQ, time, cost, and progress requirements.
  • The role requires commercial awareness, effective stakeholder management, and a continuous improvement mindset.
