Role overview

The Logistics and Trade Compliance Specialist maintains logistics provider relationships and coordinates shipments for project sites, fabrication shops, and warehouses.

The role reports to the Senior Supply Chain Manager and works with supply chain, project management, accounting, engineering, and other stakeholders.

Trade compliance

  • Advise senior leadership and company personnel on import and export regulations in countries where CB&I operates.
  • Coordinate with business units to ensure compliance with local, regional, and global trade requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits, process enhancements, information requests, and corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with customs requirements, sanctions, and trade laws.

Logistics operations

  • Lead domestic and international transportation, freight coordination, warehousing, and material delivery execution.
  • Develop and implement logistics strategies supporting project schedules, operational requirements, and customer commitments.
  • Initiate and coordinate shipments for project sites, fabrication shops, and warehouses.

Documentation

  • Manage export documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and shipping documentation.

Work practices

  • Promote the company’s HSE requirements and culture.
  • Seek mentoring relationships and development opportunities within the department.
  • Perform other duties assigned as needed.

Required qualifications

  • Three to five years of logistics experience with import and export regulatory compliance practice in the international oil and gas industry.
  • A college degree or industry-equivalent certifications.
  • EPC industry experience.

Preferred qualification

  • Experience with international customs and export control laws is highly preferred.

Skills and behaviors

  • Strong written and oral communication, adaptability, and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with databases and the MS Office Suite.
  • Understanding of INCO terms, shipping terms, and contract terms and conditions.
  • Proficiency in mathematics, cost-benefit analysis, and value-based decision-making.
  • Problem-solving, teamwork, self-motivation, and proactive task management.
