Logistics & Trade Compliance Specialist

The Logistics & Trade Compliance Specialist is responsible for maintaining commercial relationships with logistics service providers, and for initiating & coordinating shipments to support the project sites, fabrication shops, and warehouses with focus on best service, price, and terms.

This position is a Professional role recognized as an industry expert in CB&I markets, products, clients, and customers.

The role directly reports to the Senior Supply Chain Manager and routinely interacts with localized Supply Chain team, Project Managers, Accounting, Engineering, and other key stakeholders.

• Provides advice and guidance to senior leadership and company personnel on the application of government import and export regulations for the countries in which CB&I operates
• Coordinate with business units to ensure compliance with local, regional and global trade compliance requirements
• Support internal and external audit commitments including assessments, requests for information, process enhancements, and corrective actions
• Lead logistics activities including domestic and international transportation, freight coordination, warehousing, and material delivery execution
• Ensure compliance with all applicable import/export regulations, customs requirements, sanctions, and trade laws
• Develop and implement logistics strategies to support project schedules, operational requirements, and customer commitments
• Manage export documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and shipping documentation
• Perform other duties assigned as needed
• All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations
• 3-5 years’ experience in a logistics discipline with practice of regulatory compliance with import/export regulations related to international oil & gas industry.
• College degree or industry equivalent certifications
• Experience working with international customs and export control laws highly preferred
• EPC Industry experience
• Adaptability and Agility to learn and contribute in varying and complex environments
• Strong Communication - Written and Oral
• Proficient Computer Skills - Databases and MS Office Suite
• Strong attention to detail and focus on accuracy of deliverables
• Understand and appreciate the importance of timing and deadlines
• Comprehension of INCO terms, shipping terms, and contract terms & conditions language
• Proficiency in mathematics & analysis of cost-benefits, & value-based decision making
