Role Overview

The Warehouse Planning Manager will lead warehouse capacity planning, operational planning, inventory flow, resource planning, layout optimization, workload forecasting, and performance management.

The role ensures warehouses have the capacity, processes, resources, and systems needed to support service requirements while controlling operating costs.

Location and Work Arrangement

  • The role is fully remote within the United Arab Emirates.
  • The employment type is full-time.

Capacity and Operations Planning

  • Develop warehouse planning strategies aligned with supply chain and business objectives.
  • Lead short-, medium-, and long-term capacity planning.
  • Forecast warehouse space, throughput, labor, equipment, and operational resource requirements.
  • Analyze inbound, storage, picking, packing, dispatch, returns, and inventory-flow requirements.
  • Develop scenarios for demand growth, seasonality, new products, and business expansion.
  • Evaluate layouts, storage configurations, slotting, material flows, and operational zones.

Cross-Functional and Financial Planning

  • Coordinate inventory plans with available warehouse capacity.
  • Partner with distribution and logistics teams on transportation and delivery requirements.
  • Collaborate with procurement and suppliers on inbound volumes, schedules, and supply variability.
  • Work with Finance on warehouse budgets, cost models, investment cases, and forecasts.
  • Support warehouse expansion, relocation, consolidation, and new-facility projects.
  • Develop business cases for capacity, equipment, automation, and infrastructure investments.

Workforce and Performance Management

  • Plan warehouse labor based on workload, productivity, operating hours, and service-level expectations.
  • Develop operational plans for seasonal peaks, promotions, product launches, and major commercial events.
  • Monitor backlog, order volumes, throughput, processing capacity, utilization, and planned-versus-actual variances.
  • Identify bottlenecks and recommend corrective actions to maintain service levels.
  • Develop dashboards covering capacity, utilization, throughput, productivity, and service performance.
  • Establish warehouse benchmarks, productivity standards, planning reviews, and maturity assessments.

Systems and Improvement

  • Evaluate automation, robotics, WMS, analytics, and AI-enabled planning solutions.
  • Support WMS enhancements and improve warehouse data accuracy, visibility, and reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce handling, storage, labor, and operating costs.
  • Develop contingency plans for capacity shortages, disruptions, demand surges, and incidents.
  • Support network optimization by evaluating warehouse roles, locations, service areas, and inventory positioning.
  • Lead continuous-improvement initiatives and track investments, milestones, dependencies, and benefits.

Ideal Candidate

  • Strong experience in warehouse planning, warehouse operations, distribution planning, supply chain planning, logistics, inventory management, or fulfillment.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations, capacity planning, inventory flow, and fulfillment processes.
  • Experience planning warehouse space, labor, equipment, and operational resources.
  • Strong analytical and numerical capabilities.
  • Experience developing capacity models, forecasts, and operational scenarios.
  • Understanding of layout, slotting, storage systems, material handling, and workflow optimization.
  • Experience with WMS, ERP, warehouse analytics, or supply chain planning systems.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory and demand planning principles.

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience supporting warehouse expansion, relocation, consolidation, or automation projects.
  • Strong financial understanding of warehouse costs, capital investment, and productivity.
  • Excellent project-management and organizational skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives with Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, Procurement, and Operations.
  • Strong stakeholder-management and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and planning horizons simultaneously.
  • Experience working with international or distributed teams.
  • Strong proficiency in English; additional languages are advantageous.
  • A structured, data-driven, and continuous-improvement mindset.

Key Performance Indicators

Warehouse capacity utilization, storage utilization, throughput, order processing capacity, and picking productivity.

Receiving productivity, dispatch productivity, labor productivity, order cycle time, and fulfillment rate.

Inventory accuracy, picking and packing accuracy, warehouse operating cost, and cost per order or unit.

Space, dock, and equipment utilization; backlog volume; peak-period service performance; and forecast accuracy.

Planned-versus-actual workload variance, expansion readiness, automation utilization, project delivery performance, and improvement benefits.
