About the Job
The Waiter works in the In Room Dining Department at Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, Dubai.
The role performs operational duties to serve food and beverages promptly and delight and satisfy guests.
Service and Guest Experience
- Explain the in-room dining concept and food and beverage offerings to guests.
- Deliver friendly, courteous, and efficient service based on guest requirements.
- Upsell services and products to enhance service and generate revenue.
- Listen to guests, observe their needs, and create moments that surprise and delight them.
- Report guest preferences to superiors and act on them when known.
- Ensure guest satisfaction from arrival to departure according to hotel service standards.
Operations and Payments
- Complete mise en place, cleaning, polishing, and equipment assembly before and during service.
- Operate the POS system to process food and beverage orders.
- Process gift cards, non-cash payments, billing, and cashiering tasks according to policy.
- Ensure dishes meet hotel presentation and food and beverage specifications.
- Maintain outlet equipment and utensils and organize linen, beverages, dried goods, and other stock.
- Communicate guest preferences and allergies to management and kitchen colleagues and support other outlets as assigned.
