Video Annotator - United Arab Emirates

About the Role

Location

• The role is remote.

Key Responsibilities

• Watch each assigned video in full before annotation to understand the task and context.
• Segment videos into discrete logical steps based on visible action boundaries.
• Write concise, grammatically correct, action-oriented descriptions for each segment.
• Assign accurate start and end timestamps and follow project taxonomies and style guides.
• Flag unclear, corrupted, mislabeled, or unsuitable videos.
• Participate in calibration sessions and apply reviewer or QA feedback.
• Meet productivity and quality targets while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.

Required Qualifications

• C1 English proficiency or above is required, including strong grammar, vocabulary, and sentence construction.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to notice subtle changes in visual scenes.
• Strong written communication and ability to describe actions precisely.
• Comfort with video tools and annotation software; training is provided.
• Ability to work independently, follow detailed guidelines, and remain consistent during repetitive tasks.
• Reliable internet connection, a computer with a modern browser, and basic computer literacy are required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in data annotation, labeling, transcription, or content moderation.
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts, including computer vision, NLP, or robotics datasets.
• Experience writing instructional or procedural content.
• Exposure to CVAT, Label Studio, Scale, or similar annotation platforms.

Evaluation and Selection

• The process includes an English proficiency assessment, an annotation skills test, an interview or calibration round, and onboarding training.
• The stated schedule is Monday through Friday, nine hours per day.

Compensation

• Compensation is stated as $1 per accepted hour.
