Job Purpose
Join our Group Security team, where you will contribute to maintaining the highest standards of security across the Emirates Group.
Our diverse security units include Security Training, Group Security Command Centre, Hub Ops Unit, Crime Prevention & Investigation Unit, Threat & Risk Assessment Unit, Aviation Security Assurance unit, and Business Support Unit—all working together to develop and implement comprehensive security strategies.
If you are passionate about security, risk management, and operational excellence, we invite you to apply and be a part of the Emirates Group Security team.
With opportunities across various specialised units, you will gain exposure and contribute to cutting-edge security practices.
You will lead and manage aviation security operations across Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Dubai World Central (DWC) for Emirates, dnata and partner airlines, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient delivery of aircraft, cargo, High Value Cargo (VAL) and Emirates Flight Catering (EKFC) security services.
This role will provide strategic direction and stakeholder leadership, driving operational excellence and people development as a key member of the Emirates Group Security (EGS) senior leadership team.
In This Role You Will
- Own the effective planning, delivery, and continuous improvement of all aviation security services across DXB and DWC for Emirates and contracted airlines, ensuring compliance with National Civil Aviation Security Program (NCASP), International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Annex 17, Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA) and Dubai Police directives, while safeguarding customer experience and on time performance.
- Lead and assure aircraft security operations including ramp protection, gate/crew room search, aircraft search/guarding, and crew operations centre security controls. Ensure Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) implementation, audit readiness, technology deployment (e.g., access control, Explosive Trace Detection ETDs) and staff competency (training/refreshers) without disrupting operational flow.
- Direct the security of dnata VAL operations, screening, custody, escorting, secure storage, handover protocols, and chain of custody integrity aligned to Regulatory Agent (RA), Air Cargo Carrier (ACC), Transported Asset Protection Association Standards (TAPA), Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) and ISO 28000 where applicable.
- Oversee security operations for EKFC (both facilities) and related off airport installations, embedding the Known Supplier concept to secure inbound supplies from origin to EKFC. Partner with DCAA/Dubai Police on oversight, testing and corrective actions to maintain rigorous standards for Emirates and other airline customers.
- Lead for Other Airlines (OALs), ensuring service adoption and local implementation of airline specific SOPs and Service Level Agreement (SLAs) across terminals and cargo. Oversee screening methodology and trace detection in line with NCASP/ICAO requirements, conduct risk assessments, and drive corrective actions with Aviation Security/Quality Assurance (AVSEC/QA) for audit findings.
- Build strong, proactive partnerships with EKAS and key internal functions such as dnata, Sky Cargo, Emirates Engineering, external airport agencies and regulators.
- Lead, motivate and develop a diverse team of security and operational professionals, overseeing workforce planning (including outsourced/contingent resources), training compliance, performance and succession. Serve as part of the EGS senior leadership team, contributing to strategy, governance, budget management with Business Support, and data driven continuous improvement (trends, service gaps and risk mitigation).
Qualification
- To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:
- Have a minimum of 12 years experience in Safety & Security (General)
- Completed a degree or honours (12+3 equivalent)
- Have a comprehensive knowledge of airline security operations on the ramp, cargo terminals and flight catering facilities.
- Be skilled in drafting security policies and procedures, operating manuals and contracts.
- ICAO certification as an Aviation Security Professional Manager is highly desirable
- At Emirates Group, we're committed to providing our employees with opportunities to grow and develop their careers.
