About the Role
Alpago is seeking an Upholstery In Charge to supervise daily upholstery operations in a joinery production facility in Dubai. The role involves overseeing cutting, stitching, padding, and finishing of upholstered items, ensuring high-quality standards and project timelines.

Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the upholstery production team
- Oversee cutting, stitching, padding, and finishing of upholstered items, including leather, fabric, and other soft furnishing materials
- Ensure upholstery work meets approved shop drawings, design specifications, and quality benchmarks
- Inspect incoming leather and upholstery materials for quality, grain consistency, and suitability before production use
- Train and guide upholstery staff on techniques, tools, and best practices, particularly in high end leather work
- Coordinate with the Technical Manager and design team on material selection, finishes, and detailing
- Monitor material usage, minimize wastage, and maintain inventory of upholstery consumables
- Identify and resolve quality issues or defects during production, implementing corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety procedures within the upholstery section
- Maintain production records, daily output reports, and quality inspection logs
- Liaise with the Production Manager on workflow planning, manpower allocation, and deadlines
Requirements
- Engineering / Diploma or vocational training in Upholstery, Furniture Production, Leathercraft, or related field
- Minimum 10 years of experience in upholstery production
- At least 5 years in a supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of upholstery techniques, materials, and finishing methods with high end leather craftsmanship
- Hands on experience working with or trained within Italian furniture/upholstery manufacturing standards and techniques preferred
- Sound understanding of leather grading, cutting optimization, and stitching techniques (hand and machine)
- Familiarity with production documentation and quality control processes
- Excellent craftsmanship and attention to detail
- Strong leadership and team supervision skills
- Good coordination and communication abilities across departments
- Problem solving mindset with ability to work under production deadlines
- Basic proficiency in MS Office for reporting purposes

Qualifications
- Engineering / Diploma or vocational training in Upholstery, Furniture Production, Leathercraft, or related field.

- Familiarity with production documentation and quality control processes.
