Unit Leader

• Ensure timely resolution of any HR issues

• Supervise area/s in the absence of the Shift Manager

• Attend any training and development courses as required to maximise role

• Box and part label printing as required

Preferred skills and experience

Essential

• ILM Level 3 in Management and IOSH trained (or equivalent), or willing to work towards

• Numerate and literate to minimum O Level / GCSE “C”

• Experience of leading within an Automotive unionised environment and dealing with conflict

• Influencing and persuasive style with a “Can Do” attitude with propensity to problem solve

• Ability to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks on shift

• Flexible and adaptable

• Motivational and coaching approach to team

• Demonstrates respectful and professional communication, listening actively and treating others fairly

• Computer literate plus Microsoft packages

• Excellent communication skills at all levels

• Ability to analyse data

Desirable

• Problem solving training

• First Aid training

• Fire warden training

• Knowledge of starting, stopping and purging injection moulding machines

• Mattec / Shoplogix, RFGen and Deviation system knowledge (training provided)

• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing methodologies – 5S, Kaizen, SMED etc
